The front line team
Hygienists
At the Aigburth Dental Practice good oral hygiene is the cornerstone of all of our work. It is the one aspect of dentistry we promote above all others and our skilled team of hygienists will make every effort to help you achieve a fresh, healthy mouth that is really clean.
We are proud that all our Staff are fully qualified, registered Dental Nurses.
Continual Professional development is ongoing for all our team as we strive to keep up with the constant changes in Dentistry.
Mrs S Powell EDH (Liverpool 1992).
I have been at the Aigburth Dental Practice since qualifying and think of my patients as friends.
Seeing my patients every three months helps prevent tooth decay and gum disease, and we usually put the world to rights at the same time. I feel I have a great relationship with my patients. As a working mum of three, my life is pretty busy, and when you come to see me you'll also see pictures of my children.
Claire Bamber EDH (Liverpool 2005)
I Joined the Practice July 2007. I work in several practices and I love them all. Being a hygienist gives me great job satisfaction. Promoting good dental health and showing you skilled techniques in looking after your teeth and gums, as well as visiting me regularly, will help prevent problems in the future.
Janet Mahrla EDH (Liverpool 1988)
I am the newest member of the hygienist team. I joined the practice in 2009 after living in Germany for many years; I decided it was time to come back to England. It is great having the skills to work anywhere in the world. The importance of good hygiene is the same worldwide.
I have settled in and am getting to know my patients. It is a really lovely practice and along with the rest of the team, I strive to make a difference in how you feel about your smile.
Practice Manager : Ingrid Hughes NEBDSA
After working as a Dental Nurse for four years I joined the practice in 1985. I believe we're a winning team here at The Aigburth Dental Practice, and it gives me great satisfaction to know that we can really make a difference to your smile and how you feel. We care about you. Many of the team have been with the Practice for a long time and I feel their loyalty and dedication is paramount to the service given today. We know our patients. Some have sat on my knee as toddlers and now have children of their own. It is a privilege to work here and I am very proud of the team.
Reception
Lorna NEBDSA (Senior Receptionist)
Having been at the practice since 1987, it gives me great satisfaction to be part of a team that can really make a difference.
I feel I know our patients and I, along with all the team, care about your experience here. We all work hard to make you welcome and feel at ease and make sure you receive the care you deserve.
I enjoy going on courses and just recently I completed my level one in sign language and it is lovely to be able to communicate with our hard of hearing patients. I am also the first aider at the Practice. Our aim is to improve constantly the services we provide to you. You are important to us.
Claire NEBDSA
I came to work at The Aigburth Dental Practice as a Trainee Dental Nurse after leaving school in 1991. I now have four gorgeous kids, a husband and a dog and like most working mums I juggle work and home life. I love working on Reception and sometimes you will find me in Surgery. Our patients are lovely.

I met my husband and emigrated from the Wirral to Liverpool as he's a scouser. I was delighted to join the practice in 2002 and the team made me feel extremely welcome. I was already a qualified Nurse and had obtained my examination in Radiology.
Since having my two lovely boys I now work part time on Reception. The girls laugh when I tell them; I have come to work for a rest! Its so nice working here, we have a great team and lovely patients.
