Practice Quality Policy
We aim to provide
-
dental care of consistent quality for all patients. We have well established management systems which define clearly the responsibility of each practice member when looking after you.In proposing treatment we will take into account your wishes. We will explain options, where appropriate, and costs so that you may make an informed choice. We will always explain what we are doing.
-
We will do all we can to look after your general health. We will ask you about your health and about any medication you are taking. This helps us decide on the best course of treatment. All information about you and your health will be kept strictly confidential.Every practice member receives training in contamination control which is essential for the safety of our patients. -
We screen patients for mouth cancers at routine check-ups. We ask you about tobacco and alcohol use because they increase the risk of oral cancers.Practice working methods are reviewed regularly at meetings of all staff, where everyone is encouraged to make suggestions for patient care improvements. -
We regularly ask patients for their views on our services. We have systems for dealing promptly with patient issues and for ensuring that lessons are earned from any mistakes made. All dental surgeons in the practice are involved in ongoing professional education, a programme which meets the General Dental Council's requirements. We aim to keep abreast of current thinking and innovation in respect of all aspects of dentistry including preventative care, which reduces the need for treatment.
All new staff are given training in practice-wide procedures, supplemented by an annual individual review of training needs for each person. -
All practice members are fully aware of the need for dentists to work safely. In the unlikely event that any dental surgeon in this practice become unfit to practise, we have systems to ensure that concerns are investigated and, where necessary, acted upon
